The DRAFT budget represents a continuation of ongoing matters such as: events (e.g. Gala night and 1940s Day), general administration (e.g. staff costs, office rental, office costs, insurance, audits, training, and membership of organisations), Christmas decorations, the community grant scheme, and neighbourhood planning, and retains provision for projects like the proposed youth activities and a contribution to possible redevelopment works at Havelock “Square”.
The DRAFT budget is here.
Only after it has approved a budget can the Council consider the amount of Council tax to be charged.

If the Council approved the draft budget unchanged the amount of Council tax would still be lower than the 2024/5 charges made in Rothwell, Braybrooke, Brampton Ash, Rushden, Harrington, Stoke Albany, and Wilbarston. It would represent an increase at band D of about £20.41 per year – a total of about 39 pence per week.
