Once again Desborough’s Churches, and the Desborough Branches of the Royal British Legion, will join the Town Council in commemorations for Remembrance Sunday on the morning of Sunday 13th November 2022.
The usual road closures will apply to allow the parade to move safely from Gladstone Street Co-op, along Station Road to The George, down High Street (past the library), and into Lower Street at the War Memorial. Rolling road closures will be for the shortest time possible to keep disruption to the absolute minimum.
The parade will gather at 9.20am in the Gladstone Street Co-op car park, setting off at 9.40am. It will move along Station Road to St Giles Church with a pause at the library for those who wish to join there. Once the congregations are in the church the service will take place followed by the two minute silence at 11am and then the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial.
Roads will be closed for the shortest time possible to allow the parade to pass. The closures will start at around 09:30.
Whilst the Council apologises for any disruption or inconvenience caused it is sure that members of our community will understand and hopefully join the parade.
Please congregate at the big Co-Op car park
The parade will set off at 09:30 for the Service and the return march will be completed by 11:40.
Afterwards, a Remembrance Service is also held at St. Giles
The War Memorial in Hemington at approximately 12:00.
Road closure details are here.
