As a mark of respect, and in accordance with the wishes of The Queen set out in the long-established plans, celebratory events over the next few days will be cancelled and many sporting events will be postponed. This Saturday’s 1940s Day has therefore been cancelled.
At this stage it is too early to give any details of any rescheduled date.
The Council hopes that members of the public, whilst disappointed, will understand and will join the Council in mourning the passing of The Queen.
